The success story of the Müllex waste separation and recycling in the kitchen began with a simple wish: to facilitate the disposal of kitchen waste in every Swiss household.
Let’s take a look at the past: In the 1970s, little attention was paid to the subject of waste and wast disposal. There were no proper disposal system for kitchens in all of Switzerland. Bulky Ochsner metal containers and the GEKO bag holder were the impractical standard. At this time Müllex was first presented. With the waste separation system made of plastic, A. & J. Stöckli AG ushered in a new era under the Müllex brand.
In the 1970s the rubbish bin didn’t really have its fixed place anywhere. Only the bulky Ochsner metal containers and the GEKO bag holder were available on the market. The Ochsner buckets took up valuable space in the kitchen. The bag holders were fiddly and the rubbish bag could easily be pierced and the residual waste spilled into the kitchen cabinet.
A. & J. Stöckli’s idea was to bring a system onto the market that would solve those issues. It would be a plastic rubbish bin with an convenient bag clamping system, the rubbish bag shouldn’t tear, and the bin should find its place under every kitchen sink.
In 1982 the time had come. The first plastic waste system was launched under the Müllex brand. Since the launch of the first system, Müllex has been an integral part of Swiss kitchens.
Not only in Switzerland, but all over the world, the topic of recycling and sustainability is becoming more and more important. Through continuous product development, Müllex ensures that the systems meet changing customer needs and that the respective systems facilitate the disposal of residual waste and that numerous containers are available for recycling collection at the same time.
Swiss quality and Swiss Made are important to us and are valued by our customers! That is why the systems are still produced today at the foot of the 2282 metre high Wiggis mountain in Glarus and assembled to meet the diverse customer requirements.
